In Assam, two hardcore ULFA militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Ganeshjuli area of Goalpara district last night. Police said the militants were killed in a joint operation by Assam Police and the army following a tip off. While two militants were killed on the spot, the third one managed to escape with bullet injuries. Combing operation is on to nab him. The slain militants were suspected to be involved in the IED blast at Baamunghopa in Goalpara district that left one army personnel dead and six injured on 31st of last month.
