In Kashmir Valley, the police and Army in a joint operation today killed two terrorists at Hafripura in Shopian district. According to Superintendent of Police, Kulgam, the operation began on Friday on specific information. The two ultras belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba and were involved in snatching weapons from a police party in Yaripura last week.In another incident, heavy gun battle is on between the police and terrorists since this morning in Sopore town of North Kashmir. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Baramulla told AIR correspondent that after receiving a tip off, the police laid a cordon in Muslimpeer area. However, the ultras opened fire and took refuge in a nearby medical clinic. The DIG claimed that all the civilians have been evacuated from the nearby buildings and there was no patient in the clinic.
