In Andhra Pradesh, two school children died and two more injured seriously when a police gun miss-fired at them. The incident happened at an open house programme organised by the police department at Velerupadu in Khammam district. School Children went to the Police station to watch the open house programme where ammunition including guns and bullets were on display as part of the Police Commemoration Day. A 10th class student Venkat Krishna died on the spot while a eight class student, Saibabu died in the hospital. The injured students are being treated in the hospital. The Director General of Police Aravinda Rao told reporters that an enquiry has been ordered into the incident.
