In Assam, two National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) militants were killed in an encounter at Itakhola in Sonitpur district bordering Arunachal Pradesh yesterday. Official sources said, the encounter took place when security personnel carried out a raid, acting on specific intelligence input that five NDFB militants were hiding in the locality. In the exchange of fire, two militants died on the spot while three others managed to escape. Pistols, grenades and other ammunition were recovered from the slain rebels, who are yet to be identified. <br/> In another incident, two militants belonging to the same group were arrested from Gogamukh in Dhemaji district. They have been identified as Arun Isliyari and Nirod Narzary. <br/>
