In Manipur, two more underground outfits have joined the peace process. The United Tribal Liberation Army(UTLA) and the Pakkan Reunification Army(PRA) signed the Suspension of Operations agreement with the government in Imphal today. With this, the number of militant groups coming forward for peaceful negotiations has gone up to 22.The tripartite agreement was signed at the First Manipur Rifles Complex. Joint Secretary(North East) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Shambhu Singh represented the Centre and State Chief Secretary D S Poonia and leaders of the two underground outfits are also signatories of the agreement.Shambhu Singh told mediapersons later that the cadres of the two militant groups will be kept confined at two designated camps probably in Churachandpur District of the state. He said that efforts are still on to bring in other militant outfits to peaceful negotiations for a lasting solution to the insurgency problem in Manipur.Nineteen Kuki militant outfits and Kangleipak Communist Party(Lallumba Group) have already signed the agreement with the government.
