In Jammu and Kashmir, two militants were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in the mountainous Kishtwar district of Jammu Division. AIR correspondent reports, acting on a specific information about the presence of militants in Bunjwad area of Kishtwar district , Army assisted by Central Reserve Police Force and Police launched joint search operations in the area late last night.Finding the troops advancing towards them, militants opened indiscriminate firing towards the troops which was effectively retaliated. The intermittent firing between the two sides continued for several hours and finally ended at about 11 am today with the gunning down of two militants. The two slain militants have been identified as Bilal and Rafiq. Bilal, according to sources, was a surrendered militant and had re-joined militant ranks while Rafiq- a Special Police Officer (SPO) had deserted the Police force and had joined militancy couple of months ago. Massive search operations are still going on in the area.
