Around two lakh affordable houses will be constructed for economically weaker section under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, one lakh 97 thousand 402 houses will be constructed with a total investment of seven thousand 309 crore rupees in seven states.<br/><br/>He further said, these states are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and Meghalya. The Minister said, under Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban renewable Mission (JNNURM), NDA government has approved construction of over 12 lakh 83 thousand affordable houses in the last two years, while in the UPA regime, only 12 lakh 40 thousand houses were sanctioned in nine years.
