2 killed in Russian car blast

Two people were killed in Russia's North Caucasus region today after a blast ripped through their car. The vehicle was believed to have been carrying explosives. Interfax news agency quoted police as saying the car blew up near a village in western Dagestan and a third person was in hospital with serious injuries. A Police spokesman said preliminary information indicate that an explosive device transported in the car spontaneously went off. Suicide bombers killed at least 12 people in the Dagestani town of Kizlyar yesterday.
