In Assam, two hardcore cadres of banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit group) were killed by security forces yesterday in Kokrajhar district. IGP of Bodoland Territorial area, L R Bishnoi said that the incident occurred at Jaamduar under Gossaigaon police station.

He said that after intercepting a message that militants may kidnap tourists at Jaamduar which is a tri-juncture of Assam, West Bengal and Bhutan, the police launched an operation in which the two militants were killed in retaliatory fire. Police also recovered two grenades and a pistol from the slain militants.
