In Assam, two extremists were killed in an encounter with security forces at Sadhurtol under Hailakandi district bordering Mizoram. According to police, acting on a tip off, a combined force of CRPF and Assam police raided Sadhurtol area of the district on Friday night. The extremist on seeing the security forces fired on them and the security forces also retaliated. Both sides have exchanged fire over half an hour in which two extremists were killed on the spot while others managed to escape taking the advantage of darkness. A pistol, a rifle and four rounds of ammunition were recovered from the spot. A Police personnel was also injured in the encounter.
