The two day North East Calling" festival is concluding tonight at the India Gate Lawns of New Delhi. The purpose of the event is to promote the art, culture, heritage, cuisine, handicrafts, business and tourism of North East India. The event has been organised by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), under its 'Destination North East' series of this year. <br/><br/>During the two day festival, the rich cultural heritage of North East including Music and dance forms was showcased. Besides, handloom show and stalls of various Central Government Ministries showcasing the works being undertaken by them in the region were displayed. Stalls of State Governments offering opportunities in their states were also exhibited.<br/><br/>People visiting the event enjoyed the taste of food items of the North East India.In addition to it, business to business conference, video and choreography contests and quiz competitions for students on the theme Connect North East were also organised.
