In Gujarat, the short session of State Assembly begins today. The two days short session has been extended by a day. Bombay Prohibition (Gujarat Amendment) bill and Disturb area act amendment bill will be reintroduced in the State Assembly on the second day of the session. The session is also expected to also pass the constitutional amendment that extends reservation to Schedule Castes and Tribes for 10 more years. Our Ahmedabad Correspondent Yogesh Pandya reports from Gandhinagar that the important bill seeking amendment that would make voting compulsory in local bodies elections in the state will also pass in the current session. Another proposed amendment will also award 50 percent reservation to women in local bodies elections in the state.
