A two-day conference of Directors General of Police and Inspectors General of Police of all North Eastern states began today in Guwahati.<br/><br/>Addressing the conference, Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal stressed the need for better coordination and intelligence sharing among North Eastern states to tackle insurgency and terrorism.<br/><br/>Giving stress on smart policing, the Chief Minister emphasised on providing an environment for the growth of New India. Senior officials of central agencies are also participating in the conference.<br/><br/>Law and order situation, sharing of information, better coordination in tackling terrorism in North East is expected to be discussed at the conference. Introduction of the concept of North East Police and Cyber dome for greater cooperation among the North East states in sharing of information in crime related matters and greater presence in cyberspace will also be discussed.<br/><br/>In addition deliberations the on IT usage, Cyber forensic, border management, CCTNS are some of the topics for discussion.
