2 arrested in Gurgaon toll attendant murder case

The police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a young toll plaza attendant in Gurgaon, Haryana, over payment of toll fee.

Gurgaon Police Commissioner SS Deswal said that Vijay Veer, a resident of a village near the toll plaza, had fired at 22-year-old Umesh Kumar Pandey from point-blank range after an argument over paying 27 rupees as toll fee.

Mr. Deswal said that Vijay Veer was drunk at the time of committing the crime. The second arrested person has been identified as Vijay's friend Manjeet. Police have also seized Vijay's Bolero vehicle.

Pandey was shot dead on Friday when he asked for the toll fee from the Bolero owner at Kheri Daula toll plaza near Gurgaon.
