Virat Kohli slammed his maiden double century as India declared their first innings at 566 for 8 on day 2 of the first test against the West Indies at Antigua last night. Resuming play at the overnight score of 302 for 4, skipper Kohli and R. Ashwin continued to humble the Caribbean bowlers till lunch with some superb batting. Kohli made 200 becoming the first Indian captain to amass a test Double century overseas. He broke former skipper Mohammed Azharuddin's long-standing record of 192 set in 1990 against New Zealand. It was also the highest score by an Indian captain in the West Indies.Ashwin scored his 3rd Test ton making 113. He shared two over 50-run stands with Wriddhiman Saha and Amit Mishra to help Team India post a mammoth 566 for 8.When the stumps were drawn, West Indies were 31 for 1. Mohammed Shami claimed the wicket of Rajendra Chandrika.
