The first phase of elections for the 168 municipal councils in Maharashtra was held today. Out of the total 168, counting of votes for 132 municipal councils would be taken up on Monday. In the second phase, 18 municipal councils will go to polls on 13 December, while counting of votes for 44 municipal councils will be taken up on 14 December. In the third and fourth phases, elections for two and seven municipal councils will take place on 16 and 23 December.On December 17 counting of votes for 12 municipal councils would take place, while that of the seven councils would be held on December 23.
