1st ODI: India, West Indies match abandoned due to rain

First cricket ODI of the five-match series between India and West Indies has been called off due to persistent rain at Queen's Park Ovalin in Port of Spain. Earlier, West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Indian openers got a good start. Both Shikhar Dhawan scored 87 while Ajinkya Rahane made 62 runs. The visitors were looking to post a big total on board before rain interrupted play. India were 199 for 3 in 39.2 overs when play was officially called off in the capital of Trinidad and Tobago. The second match of the series will be played at this same venue tomorrow. A bilingual live commentary of the series will be broadcast by All India Radio. It can be heard on Rajdhani Channel, FM Gold and other channels from 1800 hrs. onwards. The commentary on the fifth and final ODI will begin at 1900 hrs. The commentary on the T-20 encounter will be available from 8.30 p.m. onwards. Major news bulletins on FM Gold channel will be shifted to FM Rainbow during broadcast of the commentary.
