The first meeting of ASEAN Chiefs of Security Agencies opened in the Vienamese capital Hanoi today. The meeting drew about 50 security chiefs or their representatives from ten countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. At the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Public Security Minister Le Hong Anh said the meeting will provide a chance for ASEAN chiefs of security agencies to discuss mechanisms for security cooperation in the Southeast Asian region. He said it will help contribute to realizing the goals of building a stable and wealthy ASEAN community.
