1st Haj flights starts operating from J&K to Madina today

In Jammu & Kashmir, the first Haj flights are operating today to reach Madina directly in Saudi Arabia for performing this year's annual Haj pilgrimage.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, the State Haj Committee Executive Officer Fayaz Lone said the first batch of 680 Haj pilgrims including 309 women pilgrims will leave today morning by two AIR India flights from Srinagar International Airport. As many as 6684 Haj pilgrims from all parts of State will board direct Srinagar-Madina Air India flights this year. <br/><br/>This time the pilgrims will travel from Medina to Makkah Sharief in bullet trains, which will only be a 90-minute journey. All formalities including checking of passport, travel documents, foreign exchange, scanning of baggage, etc are undertaken at Haj House in Srinagar with no additional checking and scanning at Airport for smooth travel of Haj pilgrims.
