The Supreme Court today extended the interim bail to former Union Minister Sukh Ram till August 7 in the 1993 telecom scam case.

The court also extended the bail to former bureaucrat Runu Ghosh and Hyderabad-based businessman P Rama Rao, the co-accused in the case.

On January 9th, the Bench had granted interim bail to the three accused till today.

On December 21, 2011, the Delhi High Court had upheld the lower court's 2002 judgment holding Sukhram, Runu Ghosh and P Rama Rao guilty in the case.

While Sukhram and Rama Rao were awarded three years imprisonment, Runu Ghosh was sentenced to two years in jail.
