The BJP today joined the Akali Dal in its demand seeking a fresh charge sheet against those accused in the 1984 riots. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, BJP spokesperson Sushma Swaraj backed the Akali Dal’s plea for expediting the process for delivering justice to the victims of 1984 riots. Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal said a fresh charge-sheet should be filed against the accused on the basis of the report from Nanavati commission.<br/><br/>Earlier, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Mr L K Advani urged the government to set up a House Committee to expedite the process of bringing the culprits to book. The issue was raised in the zero hour. It also figured as the House started the Business for the day. Responding to the concern of the members, Leader of the House Mr Pranab Mukherjee assured the agitating members that he will discuss the issue with the Prime Minister for taking more effective steps in this direction.
