More than 196 lakh tonnes of rice has been procured so far in the Kharif Marketing Season 2011-12. According to an official release, the total procurement till today, this season is more than one lakh tonne above the procurement on the corresponding day last season. The maximum procurement has been from the state of Chhatisgarh followed by Andhra Pradesh and Haryana.
