1948-2015 global exports: China pie soars to 14 percent

Since the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade came into being in 1948, the share of China's exports increased to 14.2 per cent in 2015, from 0.9 per cent 67 years ago. This was mentioned by India Ratings in a report, quoting WTO data. India's share in global trade fell from 2.2 per cent in 1948, to 1.7 per cent in 2015, and has always been under 1 percent in between. The share of the US exports in global trade decreased to 9.2 percent, from 21.6 percent over the same period. Britain's share in global trade fell from 11.3 per cent, to 2.9 per cent.The only three other countries to have improved their exports share are Germany, Japan and the Netherlands, the report said. Germany's share jumped from 1.4 per cent to 8.3 per cent. Japan's share improved to 3.9 per cent, from 0.4 per cent.
