1939 govt employees deployed for election duty cast postal ballot in Puducherry

In the union territory of Puducherry 1939 government employees who are deployed for election duty on the election day, that is on 6th April, cast their postal ballot, the Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Surbir Singh said. AIR correspondent reports that as per the guidelines of the election commission of India the government employees who are deployed for election duty on the poll day, 6th April, extended with the facility to cast their votes by postal ballot. Those officials seeking to vote by the postal ballot submit form 12 to the returning officers and after processing of the form 12, officials are allowed to exercise their franchise by postal ballot at the designated common facilitation centers and training halls.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The voting through postal ballot by the government officials on Poll duty commenced on March 29 th across the union territory. As on 30th March, 1939 number of pole staffs cast their votes by postal ballot throughout the union territory. This includes 1899 government employees in the Puducherry region and 40 employees in Karaikal. </span><br />
