19 new secretaries appointed in bureaucratic reshuffle

In a reshuffle of the top bureaucracy, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of 19 new secretaries in various departments. <br/><br/>An order issued yesterday by Department of Personnel and Training said, a 1981 batch IAS officer, Coal Secretary Anil Swarup was appointed School Education Secretary. Susheel Kumar has been appointed new Coal Secretary. <br/><br/>He is at present Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs. Sanjeevanee Kutty, Special Secretary and Financial Adviser in Home Ministry, has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management in place of Mr Kumar. <br/><br/>Senior IAS officer G K Dwivedi, whose suspension in connection with the renewing of license of an NGO run by controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik was recently revoked, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in Department of Land Resources. <br/><br/>NHAI Chairman Raghav Chandra has been named Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes. Yudhvir Singh Malik, Special Secretary in Niti Aayog, will be new chairman of National Highway Authority of India in place of Mr Chandra.<br/><br/>Senior bureaucrat Rajiv Yadav will be Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in place of Prabhas Kumar Jha, who has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Official Language.<br/>Mr Yadav, who is Secretary in Department of Sports, has been replaced by Injeti Srinivas, Director General of Sports Authority of India.<br/><br/>The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has also approved extension in tenure of R K Jain, Member of National Disaster Management Authority, for six months beyond November 30.
