In Assam, 19 militants and linkmen have been arrested. Security forces arrested eight militants and linkmen of Karbi Land Protection Force, KLPF in Karbi Anglong district. Karbi Anglong SP, Mughdya Jyoti Mahanta said that a joint team of the army and police launched counter insurgency operation last night at Jilangsu under Bokajan police station. He said that militants opened fire on security forces which was retaliated through firing by security forces. After exchange of fire, security forces busted a hide out of the militant group and six militants and two linkmen were arrested. Grenades, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the militant outfit.

In another incident, a joint team of the army and police have arrested 11 linkmen of National Democratic Front of Bodoland- Songbijit faction in Chirang district. Chirang SP said that arms and ammunition have also been recovered from them. Further details are awaited.
