In Sri Lanka, the death toll in the incident caused by collapse of a garbage dump in capital Colombo has risen to 19. At least 13 people have been injured as rescue efforts are on to clear the debris and find others still missing. <br/><br/>The 91-metre-high garbage dump collapsed last afternoon following rains which triggered a landslide that swamped the homes below. A police spokesman said around 145 houses have been damaged and 180 families affected. He said 63 families have been shifted to a makeshift refugee camp nearby. <br/><br/>Sri Lanka government has prevented further dumping of any garbage at the site. The incident happened as the country marked its traditional Sinhala and Tamil New Year, and most people were in their houses celebrating. <br/><br/>The incident may attract opposition from locals and opposition parties as numerous requests were made by residents previously to remove the garbage site since it was causing health issues.
