19.32 Lakh Metric Tonnes of food grains already lifted by States and UTs under extended PMGKAY-2

The Government has said that a total of 19.32 Lakh Metric Tonnes of  food grains have been lifted by the States and Union Territories under the extended Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana PMGKAY-2. <br />''<br />''In a statement, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution today said that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana -2 has started from the 1st of this month and will continue till November 2020.<br />'' <br />''During this period, a total of 201 Lakh Metric Tonnes of  food grains will be distributed among 81 crore beneficiaries. A total of 12 Lakh Metric Tonnes of the whole chana will be distributed among 19.4 crore families. <br />''<br />''The Ministry said, the government is bearing 100 per cent financial burden of approximately Rs 76,000 crore under this scheme. It said, only wheat has been allocated to 4 States and Union Territories, rice has been allocated to 15 States and Union Territories and both rice and wheat  allocated to the remaining 17 States and Union Territories.<br />''<br />''With regard to Pulses, the total requirement for the next five months is 12 Lakh Metric Tonnes and the government is bearing 100 per cent financial burden of nearly Rs 6,849 crore under this scheme. <br />''<br />''Under Atma Nirbhar Bharat package over 2.43 Lakh Metric Tonnes of food grains have been distributed to 2.40 crore beneficiaries in May and to 2.47 crore beneficiaries in June 2020. <br />''<br />''It said, 11,678 Metric Tonnes of chana was also distributed by the States and Union Territories to the migrant workers under the scheme.<br />''<br />''The Ministry said, as per the Food Corporation of India report, FCI currently has 253.28 Lakh Metric Tonnes of rice and over 531 Lakh Metric Tonnes of wheat.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Ministry said, the One Nation One Ration Card scheme has been enabled in 20 States and Union Territories so far and by 31st March 2021, all the remaining States will be included in the scheme.</span><br />
