The eighteenth Meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council was held in New Delhi today under the Chairmanship of the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as pre-Budget 2018-19 consultations with the financial sector regulators. <br/><br/>The meeting was attended by RBI Governor Dr Urjit Patel, Finance Secretary Dr Hasmukh Adhia, Secretary Economic Affairs Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary Financial Services Rajiv Kumar, Secretary Corporate Affairs Injeti Srinivas, Chief Economic Adviser Dr Arvind Subramanian, SEBI Chairman Ajay Tyagi, IRDAI Chairman T.S. Vijayan, PFRDA Chairman Hemant Contractor, IBBI Chairman Dr M. S. Sahoo and other senior officers of the Government of India and financial sector regulators. Secretary, MCA and Chairman IBBI have been added as members of Council recently. <br/><br/>The Regulators presented their proposals for the Union Budget 2018-19 concerning development of their sectors. The Council deliberated over the proposals. Concerned Ministries and Departments were advised by the Council to examine respective proposals in detail for appropriate further decision.
