A total of one lakh 89 thousand 402 Gram Panchayats, GPs has been made Service Ready under BharatNet as of the 6th of this month. This information was given by Communications and Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Thursday. He said the BharatNet project is being implemented in a phased manner to provide broadband connectivity to all GPs including villages in the country.<br />''<br />''Mr Vaishnaw said a pilot project for rolling out five lakh Fibre to the Home (FTTH) connections using BharatNet through BharatNet Udyamis in GPs and Villages has also been assigned to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.<br />''<br />''<br />
