In Punjab, 1880 candidates have filed their nominations for 117 seats of Punjab Assembly for which single phase polling will be conducted on 30th of this month. Nine hundred candidates filed their nominations on Thursday on the last day of nominations. Maximum 98 candidates filed nominations in Ludhiana district on Thursday followed by Amritsar where 88 candidates filed nominations. Air correspondent reports, the real picture of candidates will be clear on 16th of this month after final withdrawal.The scrutiny of papers is being held today.Meanwhile, the Election Office has ordered the transfer of SSP Vigilance Ludhiana to Uttrakhand after verifying the complaint of discrimination lodged by Congress.
