In Puducherry, 187 candidates are left in the fray for the April 13 Assembly Elections, when withdrawal of nominations came to a close last evening. Of the total 187 nominations, 162 are in Puducherry district comprising of Puducherry, Mahe and Yanam and the rest 25 are in Karaikal district. Chief minister V.Vaithilingam, State ministers E.Valsaraj, Shajahan, Namasivayam, Kandhasamy, Malladi Krishna Rao, speaker of the out going Assembly R.Radhakrishnan(all Congress), former Chief minister R.V.Janakiraman (DMK) and former Chief minister and founder of the newly floated All India NR congress party N.Rangasamy are the prominent candidates left in the fray.
