In Meghalaya, 18-year-old National Table Tennis player Deenadayalan Vishwa from Tamil Nadu met with an accident and succumbed to injuries yesterday.

Denadayalan, who was in Shillong to take part in the 83rd Senior National Table Tennis championships was travelling along with three other players in a taxi from Guwahati Airport to Shillong when the accident occurred at Shangbangla, Ri-Bhoi. 

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has condoled the demise of the young player. In a message he said he was saddened to learn about the tragic accident and said Deenadayalan had his whole life ahead of him with big dreams at such a young age. He extended his deepest condolences to his family. Have asked the team to extend all assistance to complete the necessary formalities.
