18 western dists in UP continue to reel under severe flood

In Uttar Pradesh, eighteen western districts continue to reel under severe flood. More than a thousand villages are flood affected in Moradabad, Aligarh, Bareilly, Kannauj, Badaun, Bulandshahar and Meerut. The continuous flow of water from barrages has made the situation worse. AIR correspondent reports, the high level of Narora barrage has made the situation worse in Bulandshahar and Aligarh. Around six lakh cusecs of water has been released from the barrage. The road traffic over the barrage has been restricted. The Army, the PAC along with NDRF are conducting relief operation. But seeing the vastness of the calamity these measures are proving to be inadequate.
