In Afghanistan, at least 18 people including six foreign soldiers were killed and more than 50 injured when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives laden vehicle near an army recruitment centre in the west of capital Kabul on Tuesday morning. Interior ministry said in a statement that 12 civilians were killed and 47 injured in the blast which was targeted against the foreign military convoy. NATO-led alliance said six international soldiers were killed and several others were injured in the attack. A statement by the alliance said five of their military vehicles were destroyed. An eyewitness at the scene said four construction workers were among those killed. He said more than a dozen vehicles were completely destroyed. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack saying US military convoy was the target.Taliban-led groups have often carried out suicide attacks in capital Kabul. Today’s attack is the first major one after a similar attack on February 26 which killed 17 people including 7 Indian nationals.
