In Punjab, the Border Security Force personnels have recovered 18 kilogram of Heroin and a .30 bore Chinese pistol with 20 live cartridges from the Border out Post (BoP) at Dera Baba Nanak adjoining Pakistan border in Gurdaspur Distt today.<br/><br/>Quoting the DIG, BSF, Punjab Frontier, Mr. Jagir Singh Sra, AIR Jalandhar Correspondent reports that the contraband was packed in 18 packets of a kilogram each and was being smuggled into Indian territory from across the border.<br/><br/>DIG Sra said that when the BSF personnels heard some noises near the BoP at about 4.45 in the morning, the patrolling party challenged and fired two rounds in the direction from where the noises were coming.<br/><br/>However, Pakistani smugglers, supposed to be three in number were able to run away. After reaching the place, the security personnels recovered the pistol and packets of Heroin which the smugglers were sending on Indian side by using a long pipe. There is no marking on the packets of Heroin.
