In Madhya Pradesh, seventeen persons were killed and sixteen injured in a road accident in Chhatarpur District today. The condition of nine injured persons is stated to be serious. According to District Collector Rajesh Bahuguna, the accident occurred due to head-on collision of a passenger bus and a truck. Our Correspondent reports that the district administration has made all arrangements for better treatment of injured persons.Our correspondent reports that seriously injured persons were shifted to Chhatarpur District headquarter for treatment. Fourteen people died on the spot and three persons died in the hospital. Drivers of both the vehicles also lost their lives in this accident. The bus was travelling from Harpalpur to Chhatarpur and met the accident near the Nowgaon check post. The jawans of army from the nearby cantonment area came for the rescue and relief operation. State Government has announced Rupees one lac each for the relatives of the deceased and rupees fifty thousand each for the injured.
