In Himachal Pradesh, 17 people were killed and two others injured when a tipper of Border Road Organisation fell into a deep gorge on the National Highway 22 near Sapilo of Kinnaur district this morning.

According to official sources, those killed in the accident included 15 labourers and two drivers from Jharkhand. The tipper was coming from Nasang Jule to Sapilo after clearing the debris of landslide from the road near Nasang Jule. One of the injured has been admitted to hospital at Rekongpio, headquarter of Kinaur district while another at Sapilo.
