17 killed in rain-related incidents in UP; Flood situation grim in Assam

In UP, several western districts are facing threat of flood due to release of water from barrages. Heavy rain also continues to lash the state causing overflow of the reservoirs. AIR correspondent reports that, heavy rain has filled the barrages to brim and water had to be released from Ganga Barrage in Haridwar and Yamuna Barrage in Tajewala.Over six lakh cusecs of water from Tajewala has been released into Yamuna river today. Several districts like Baghpat and Jyotibaphule nagar have come under the threat of flood. The administration has evacuated the nearby population. Flood and water logging situation remains the same in rest of the affected districts.
