In Madhya Pradesh, 17 people were killed and 35 injured when a mini-bus collided with a truck near Naugaon in Chattarpur district, this morning. The over- crowded mini-bus was going to Chattarpur from Harpalpur. The injured have been admitted in Naugaon and Chattarpur district hospitals. Most of the deceased were labourers.Expressing grief over the incident, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced an ex-gratia of one lakh rupees for the next of kin of each of the deceased and fifty thousand rupees for the injured. The district administration has also sanctioned an ex-gratia of ten thousand rupees to the next of kin of each of the deceased and five thousand to the injured.
