In Mexico, at least 17 people were killed in a shootout with police in a prison in the northern border city of Ciudad Juarez. Local media reports on Tuesday said inmates exchanged fires with police after grabbing weapons of security forces during a failed breakout attempt late on Monday. The city spokesman Manuel del Castillo said that after the shootout, the police entered the prison and found that 17 people were dead. He said one woman was among the dead.
