Seventeen people were killed in a major fire at a two-storey firecracker warehouse in Delhi's Bawana Industrial Area last evening. The Fire Department said, the blaze started at 6 PM on the storage unit on the ground floor and soon engulfed the entire structure.<br/><br/>Police said, two people were also injured. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A man has been apprehended by the police in this connection.<br/>'<br/>The city government has ordered an inquiry into the incident, with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visiting the site late last night. He told reporters that a compensation of five lakh rupees each will be given to the next of kin of those killed and one lakh each to the two injured.<br/>'<br/>Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Union Ministers Harsh Vardhan and Vijay Goel and bjp's Delhi unit President Manoj Tiwari also visited the site.<br/>'<br/>President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed anguish at the death of people in the fire. In a tweet, Mr Kovind extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayers to those injured. Mr Modi also said, his thoughts are with the families of those who lost their lives.
