In Pakistan, at least 17 people have been killed in a suicide bombing in the north-western Bajaur district.
Nearly 30 people have been injured in the blast, some of them seriously.
The blast is reported to have targeted security forces close to a market place in Khar, Bajaur's main town.
The bomber was on foot and detonated an explosive vest when he reached a police checkpoint. Five of those killed were tribal policemen.
The volatile tribal area, close to the Afghan border, has previously been the centre of heavy fighting between Pak troops and Taliban militants. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. Police said the area has been placed under curfew.
