In Uttarakhand, 17 people were killed and more than 20 injured in three separate road accidents during last 24 hours in Dehradun district. Director General of Police JS Pandey told AIR that 8 people were killed and 9 other injured when a bus in which they were travelling fell in to a river near Asoi village in Tyuni of Dehradun on Saturday afternoon. The Bus was coming from Tyuni to Vikasnagar. 7 people were rescued. In another accident, 7 people were killed near Badrena in Rishikesh Police station area when a vehicle fell into a deep gorge on Friday night. 2 more killed in another road accident near Mussorie on Friday night. Governor Margret Alva expressed her grief over the accidents and conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families.
