17 Indians facing death penalty to appeal in Sharjah Court

An appeal will be filed in a Sharjah Court of Appeals today against the capital punishment to 17 Indians, who were recently found guilty by the Sharjah Shariah Court of killing a Pakistani national and injuring three of his compatriots.<br/><br/> The diplomatic sources told AIR in Dubai that Indian Consulate has hired a Dubai-based law firm to represent the Indians. Earlier the officers from the consulate met all seventeen Indians and informed that these people are keeping good health.<br/><br/> The convicted, 16 from the Punjab and one from Haryana, were recently found guilty by the Sharjah Shariah Court of killing a Pakistani national and injuring three of his compatriots allegedly during a clash in an illegal alcohol business in January 2009.
