Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mrs. Ambika Soni inaugurated the 16th International Children's film in Hyderabd today. On the occasion, she assured that there should not be any cultural barriers among the people of different regions and all the languages will be given an equal priority. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. K Rossaih and several film personalities were present on the occasion.<br/><br/>Austrian Film ' Mozart in China’ by Bernd Neuburger was screened as the inaugural film of the festival.The Children's Society of India and Andhra Pradesh government are jointly organizing the week long festival. Our correspondent reports that 70 films from various countries including Iran, Sweden, Germany, China, Srilanka and Switzerland are being screened during the week-long festival. About 500 delegates including 400 child-delegates have arrived from different parts of the country to participate in the Film Festival. An array of films under different categories like International, Asia Panorama, and Children’s World are awaited. Special Workshops, conferences and open forum are being organized as part of the festival to provide children an opportunity to share their views and experiences. The unique feature of this year’s film festival would be a special show exclusively for visually impaired and mentally challenged children. A Children’s jury for ‘Asian section’ and a ‘separate package for German films’ are other noteworthy features of the current festival. For the first time the UNICEF is showcasing 25 documentaries on different issues in the film festival . The best films will be given Golden Elephant awards on the closing day of the festival.
