The 16th Technology Summit kicked off in New Delhi today with Germany as the partner country. Inaugurating the two day event jointly with the state secretary of Germany Thomas Rachel, Secretary department of science and technology, Dr.T.Ramasamy said that the focus areas for this year’s summit are Lean and Green-Opportunities for Collaboration in the Manufacturing Sector, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Manufacturing, IT, Solar Energy and Water Technologies. He said, the major outcome of the previous summits have been large number of technology tie-ups between Indian industry and organizations of the partner country. He expressed hope that this year too, joint research and development projects, Joint Ventures and Collaborative Projects in Public Private Partnership mode will take place. Mr Rachel on his part said that excellent opportunities exist between the two countries for enhancing bilateral trade and cooperation.
