At the 16th Asiad in Guangzhou today, India won a silver and a bronze medal. The snooker trio of veteran Yasin Merchant, Sneh Aditya Mehta and Brijesh Damani collected the Silver when they lost to hosts China in the final.In Tennis, the men's team had to be content with a bronze when they went down 1-2 against Chinese Taipei in the semi-finals.In Swimming, Virdhawal Khade narrowly missed out on a medal when he ended up fourth in the 50 metre freestyle event just 0.03 seconds behind the eventual bronze-medallist. In Hockey, the men's team started their campaign defeating Hong Kong 7-nil in their first Group 'B' match.India's medals tally in the Games now stand at One Gold, Four Silver and Three Bronze.On the third day of competitions in the 16th Asian Games today, China continued to lead the medals table when reports last came in. The hosts had a haul of 52 gold, 19 Silver and 19 Bronze. The second spot is held by South Korea with 18 Gold, 13 Silver and 17 Bronze. Japan are third with a tally of 13 Gold, 25 Silver and 21 Bronze.India who have so far won One Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze, are, at present, placed Seventh. Ahead of India, are Chinese Taipei – fourth, Hong Kong – 5th and North Korea 6th.
