In Leh district, a total of 169 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the forthcoming 26 Members General Council election of Ladakh Autonomous Hills Development Council, LAHDC. Scrutiny of papers will be take place today. AIR Leh correspondent reports that the main contest will be between Congress and BJP. While Congress has fielded 68 candidates, BJP is contesting 40 seats. 67 independents candidates are also in the fray.
