In Assam, 16 persons were taken into custody by the Police for interrogation in connection with the Sunday’s powerful IED blast that derailed the Guwahati-Puri Express at Bhatkuchi in Kamrup rural district. They were nabbed from the nearby four villages of the blast site namely Kekohati, Bhatkuchi, Goriakoth and Batahkuchi. They were picked up by the police on Tuesday night following specific information that they helped the militants to commit the crime. A little known outfit- Adivasi Cobra militants have claimed the responsibility of the blast on the train.As many as 40 people were injured, three of them seriously, following the derailment of four bogies of the train due to the impact of the blast.
